MATCH REPORTS FOR NOV

Saturday 28th November
Match postponed due to inclement weather

Saturday 21st November
Where to start? At least they got the kick off time right this week! Football is all about preparation, be it in the form of training, getting to the game on time, warming up correctly or the team talk and match plans. Proper Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Performance, the 6 “P’s”. So on Saturday we arrive at the game and our normally late but reliable on the pitch centre half turned up 5 minutes before kick off, while all the other lads messed about and didn’t take the warm up seriously. Our linesman wss still on the khasi (because he was with the centre half) when the ref was trying to get the game off. The game started and unsurprisingly we were slow out of the blocks and conceded a stupid early goal, not picking up the runner which gave our keeper no chance.
Going forward we did create chances and Matt Clarke hit one home 10 minutes after we conceded. Back on level terms we were taking the game to them. We finally settled into the game and started to get the upper hand in possession terms. Some fantastic build up play led to Matty's second of the afternoon which took us in at half time deserving 2–1 leaders. This is where the match ended for most of our players and three ridiculous pieces of defending led to us getting beaten for the second time in the league campaign. We must from hereon be properly prepared and preparation for Saturday will start on Thursday at training.

Trinity away next where we can expect nothing but to get smashed if we prepare and perform as we did this week.

Goals: Matt Clarke (2)

Saturday 14th November
The Tony Kopp Cup match against Ockley was postponed due to atrocious weather.

Saturday 7th November
A hard fought 5-4 win. Eastbourne Athletic play their domestic football in the East Sussex league which is said to be a higher standard than our league, therefore it could be said that Eastbourne were favourites on the day. We knew we would have our work cut out against the East Sussex league, add to the higher league status our appalling defending meant it was going to be tough. Still going forward we are hard to cope with even for the teams from the upper leagues. Chances still go begging and with the imminent return of Dan Budd we should start tucking a few more away. All in all a good day for our lads and we need to keep the momentum going.
